A simple 3-step process

Initial Meeting

The first meeting is arranged to fit into your schedule – that can be face-to-face at a convenient location, or via Zoom if you prefer to chat online. We’ve also got an office in Stroud, and have always got the kettle on!

This is when we’ll have a chat about your business and what you’re looking for as well as why you’re looking to do this now, discussing the project and the people or businesses that you’re looking to target with it. This is all to get as clear a picture as possible on what you’re hoping to achieve and why so we can best help you accomplish your goal.

We’ll then prepare you a quote for the job as discussed. This will have all foreseeable costs included based on our discussions, including additional costs for imagery if applicable.

Step 1 – Creation

We supply initial visual/visuals based on all information after our discussion and communications. This is the bulk of the work and takes the most time. It encompasses collating all the relevant information and brainstorming options that meet your requirements, as well as a few other options to give you a selection, some of which you may not have considered style-wise.

You may already have a brand that you wish me to follow. I can work to any brand guidelines or previous styles you have already have in place.

Step 2 – Amendments and Final Proofing

We will then supply final proofs either amended or not from Step 1 for approval before moving to Step 3.

Step 3 – Delivery

We provide either files for print or organise the print for you and arrange delivery to your offices.

If the project is an identity, we will supply all various file types (.ia, .jpg, .eps) for use in all of your business requirements, from business card size to billboard size.

If your project is a downloadable pdf or web graphic, we will hand over the file in a format fitting to web environment.

Other things to consider

Budgets

Print prices are always changing, but part of our role is to advise you on costs and come up with alternatives if the price is too high on printing. There will always be a number of options for weight of paper, varnishing and finish and our role includes this aspect of production.

Images and Usage

If there are particular stock images you are after we can try to source copyright free images, but if not there maybe a charge for these (range between £8.50 and £20). These images would then belong to you, and we don’t make money on their purchase (we’d use them in the capacity of design, but they are yours to use as you see fit).

Copyright

Images that you’ve found on the internet are a great way to illustrate the feel and look of what you’re after, but they’re often not copyright free, so if that was the case we would source other imagery for you that you were happy with. There maybe a fee for this from the image website (such as shutterstock), but we don’t make money on that – and we would encourage you to purchase the image and then we use it under your direction.

Specific Font

If there is an unusual look and font that you’re after we will always try and source from a free site, but occasionally there is a charge. This is unusual though as there are many free fonts to choose from.

Additional Charges

Minimum 15 minute charge for additional amends – within your quote there will be allotted time for amends, but if this is exceeded there will be additional charges. You would always be informed if this was the case though, and given an estimate of time for the change to be made. Usually the allotted times are more than enough though, as the last thing we want you to be is unhappy with your solution.
